Volunteers in our Emergency Department (ED) help create and promote a caring, compassionate, efficient environment for patients and their family members.
Examples of ED volunteer duties:
- Greet patients and visitors; paying close attention to their needs for assistance.
- Walk visitors to patient room/destination; when needed.
- Serve as a liaison between patient, family and staff (as needed).
- Use proper wheelchair techniques taught during wheelchair training/competency; including proper cleaning of wheelchairs.
- Restock ED rooms with linens and plastics to prepare the room for the next patient.
- Check status of patient nutrition areas in the ED.

Description
Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) is a not-for-profit health care provider committed to serving the health care needs of Miami County, Ohio, and the surrounding area. Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services are provided with a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services and behavioral health care programs.
