Volunteers in our Surgery Waiting Area help create and promote a caring, compassionate, efficient environment for patients and their family members.
Examples of Surgery Waiting Room volunteer duties:
- Sticker and file patient charts.
- Escort patient to testing, patient to family, family to patient, etc.
- Answering phone at volunteer desk and take messages as necessary.
- Assist with crowd control at Registration Desk.
- Review the clipboard/whiteboard to relay patient information to the family.
- Make fresh coffee, clean the kitchenette (including a resupply of coffee, cream, crackers etc.) and the family notification pagers.
- Light housekeeping in Waiting Room (put away magazines and chairs, dust, etc).

Description
Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) is a not-for-profit health care provider committed to serving the health care needs of Miami County, Ohio, and the surrounding area.
