UNI is working community partners and city representatives from: DWSD, Clear Corps, Keep it growing Detroit, La Vida, Rapid Resources, Compost, and Raquel's Mobile Office to host a "Land and Water Summit. This event is a time for residents and friends to learn rains barrels, storm water, bird houses, gardening, recycle bins, etc.
We are Seeking:
- Bilinguel volunteers to assist with residents and vendors
- Volunteers to assist with registration, set up, and take down
Volunteering at the Land and water summit will be a great way to spend Earth Day and learn about resources that our partners offer!

Urban Neighborhood Initiatives (UNI) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that works with communities in urban neighborhoods to build safe and thriving environments where people want to live, work, and play. We believe that healthy neighborhoods are the basic building blocks of a successful city. Accordingly, UNI concentrates on one neighborhood at a time as it builds an inclusive, collaborative template for a given community's renewal. UNI is based within Springwells Village, a 1.3 square mile southwest Detroit neighborhood bounded by Fort, Dix and Waterman Streets.
