Job Descriptions
Set Up: You will be out bright and early, helping us get organized ahead of vendors’ arrival. You’ll transition to helping vendors as they arrive, if they need assistance carrying things to booths, etc. Vendors must be set up by 9:30.
Parking: You’ll work with the volunteer lead (an expert Walk parking guide), to get vendors and attendees parked efficiently.
Vendor Assistant: Greet vendors and help them unload their cars efficiently; get them set up by 9:30.
Registration: Greet walkers, get them checked in and oriented.
NOTE: There may be required training the week of for this position.
Route Guides and Water: Monitor water stations, ensuring they are stocked with water. Help walkers along the route.
VIP Gazebo: Make sure our VIP fundraisers are cared for in the gazebo, keep food/drink orderly.
APS Tables (adoptions, merchandise): Speak with attendees about APS, our adoptable dogs, and help with merchandise sales.
Fun Zone: Help in the kids’ fun zone and with pet fur tattoo applications, and other fun stuff!
Breakdown + Clean Up: Self-explanatory-get everything packed away and ensure we leave the site clean!

The APS of Durham is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and providing shelter for all animals. Our mission is to educate the public about the humane care and treatment of animals, promote spay/neuter and encourage the adoption of homeless animals.
Description
Volunteers are vital to the lives of homeless pets in Durham. APS Volunteers pledge at least eight hours per month to socializing cats or dogs.
All volunteers must attend an orientation and complete necessary training before beginning work at APS.
