The Game Coding Volunteer Instructor will be responsible for teaching an introductory game coding class to kids ages 6 - 12 years old. The game coding instructor will also be responsible for creating and leading lesson plans on techniques used to create video games. A passion for teaching is a must!

  • Experience with computer programming or with video gam coding
  • Experience working with kids 6 - 12 years old
  • Ability to manage, create and lead activities
  • Experience managing a group of kids
  • Over the age of 21 years old
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must provide valid government-issued ID and proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Willingness to obtain First Aide/CPR certification

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) manages a 6,414-acre park system of over 485 parks and extensive natural areas. SPR provides athletic fields, tennis courts, play areas, specialty gardens, and more than 25 miles of boulevards and 120 miles of trails. The system comprises about 12% of the city's land area. SPR also manages many facilities, including 26 community centers, eight indoor swimming pools, two outdoor (summer) swimming pools, four environmental education centers, two small craft centers, four golf courses, an outdoor stadium, and much more.
