About the production:

Outside the Lines

Created by Tia Shearer Bassett
Directed by Megan Alrutz

Best for children ages 2-5 and their families

Two pen pals, Bud and Vi, brighten each other's lives from afar. Bud lives in a straight-line world of tall, tall buildings. Vi lives in a curvy-line world of rolly, rolly hills. Bud and Vi have never met, but they create a world together by exchanging lines...through the mail.

Scored by lively tango music and featuring interactive projection design, Outside the Lines is a new nonverbal play for ages 2-5 and their families about one of our earliest and deepest joys: connection.

Mission Statement

Arts on the Horizon was founded as a professional, non-profit theatre company with a specific focus of providing high-quality performances and education programs for an audience of young people ages 0 to 6 years old and their families.

Description

Arts on the Horizon is a professional, non-profit theatre company with a unique and specific focus of providing performances and education programs for young people ages 0 to 6 years old. We were the first theatre company in the country to focus our work solely on this age range.

Arts on the Horizon values intelligent, innovative, and original work for diverse young audiences that is accessible, affordable, inspiring and joyful. We believe that the arts play an important role in the life of a child. Our interactive, nonverbal shows are performed by professional, adult actors.

Post-show activities, such as a take-home craft projects related to themes in the show and meet-and-greet opportunities with the performers, extend the theater-going experience beyond the actual production.
