If you would enjoy making a difference in the lives of homeless animals, then we are the place for you! You will get plenty of exercise, have the pleasure of meeting other animal lovers, and have fun caring for cats that will shower you with love and attention because they appreciate the time, love, and energy you give them.
We are flexible and can work around your schedule. Some volunteers come in once or twice a week; others come in once or twice a month. The amount of time you give to our shelter family is entirely up to you. Our cats are taken care of in the morning any time between 7am and noon. The shifts usually take less than 2 hours but if you want to stay longer we won't say no! Duties may include feeding and cleaning.
All cat caregivers must be at least 18 years old. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Mission Statement
Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to preventing animal suffering, rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned dogs and cats and finding homes for these animals, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, and encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their animals.
Description
Lifelong Friends is not a typical animal shelter. We refuse to participate in the killing of hundreds of healthy, homeless animals that takes place every 60 seconds in America. We are an all-volunteer organization, and it has been your continued support and compassion that has allowed us to manage animal rescue challenges, operate and maintain our shelter, and facilitate hundreds of adoptions.
Since 1997, Lifelong Friends (formerly Lago Vista PAWS) has been providing a safe haven for abandoned and abused animals. Thousands of animals have passed through our doors. Operated solely by volunteers, our by-laws instill the philosophy of the founders as a no-kill shelter.
Volunteers work hard caring for the animals and are as dedicated to improving community awareness.
