Special Olympics Orange County will host a track meet for Triangle Area counties at East Chapel Hill High School for 100+ athletes. Athletes will compete in a variety of walk, run and field events in a fun, supportive environment. Volunteers are needed in various length shifts to help with set-up/clean-up, staging, timing, event announcer, and lunch distribution. Groups of all ages and sizes are welcome!

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
Description
SOOC offers 18 sports year-round to more than 300 athletes of all ages and skill levels with developmental disabilities.
