Our after-school program, the Dorcas Outreach Center for Kids (DOCK) seeks talented, experienced tutors in all subject areas for students between kindergarten and 12 th grade. We help both struggling and gifted students reach their full potential by supplementing the instruction they receive in class and guiding them toward study practices and aides that can help them excel. Tutors work with individual students one-on-one or in small groups for students who are studying the same material.

Mission Statement
To plan, implement, and facilitate solutions for the revitalization of impoverished neighborhoods
Description
People in need often live in neighborhoods in need, with street crime, dilapidated housing, and abandoned businesses. Concerned residents know what needs to be done to restore their communities, but lack the resources to do so. That’s where the Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition comes in. BNDC is a non-profit development corporation, working with community partners to revitalize struggling neighborhoods.
One example is the Booker T. Washington neighborhood in north Melbourne, FL. Remarkable, positive changes are occurring in this community! The crime rate has plummeted. Working poor families have decent housing. Children/teens are being nurtured in a year-round program aimed at academics and character development. FLORIDA TODAY recognized BNDC’s impact, naming us the 2009 Organization of the Year.
