Volunteer Sunset

Grace Hospice of South Bend is looking for volunteers in the Mishawaka area to visit our patients. You will spend time sitting with the patient while the caregiver runs errand and providing much needed companionship and emotional support for the patient. The day of the week is pretty flexible but they would like someone that can come on a weekly basis if possible, but are willing to have someone come as little as 1 time a month. To fill out an application please go to www.ghospice.com. Please choose South Bend as the location even though you will be volunteering in the Mishawaka area. About Grace Hospice of South Bend

5838 W. Brick Rd., Suite 101, South Bend, IN 46628, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is for each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Grace Hospice of Indiana is the first Grace Hospice in the state and has Nurses, CNA's/Hospice Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers that assist the patients and support their families wherever the patient considers their "home" to be.

The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.

Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame.

We strive to improve the quality of life for all we serve including our patient's families, their neighbors, and the community they live in. We strive to make an impact with everyone we meet and improve the community as a whole.

Come make a difference with the first Grace Hospice of Indiana. This is an opportunity that will change your life.
