Learning Circles are lightly-facilitated study groups for learners who want to take free online courses together, in-person. Online learning courses have been available for decades but about 80% of participants quit before completing them. By facilitating a Learning Circle you can create an open, collaborative learning environment that has the the potential to be the support system many learners need. You do not need expert knowledge to facilitate a learning circle, you can learn along with the rest of the group!
The library will provide a space, computers with internet access, and other resources to support each learner's needs.
You can learn more about Learning Circles at https://www.p2pu.org/en/
You can browse the free online courses available to facilitate at edx.org and coursera.org.
Fingerprint clearance required for volunteers age 18 and over. Fingerprints are at no cost to volunteer.
