Looking for host families for foreign exchange students.

I work with the Council on International Educational Exchange, we are a non-profit and we work all over the country with international students and American host families and schools to bring cultures and people together. I am currently looking for host families in the greater Charlotte, NC area.

The host family can be a family of any kind...single person, single parent, young couple, young couple with children...all the way up to a retired couple. We have found that each kind of family provides a wonderful and unique experience for the student. The family provides, technically, room and board. But, practically, they will make the student their child for the year and truly become a family that builds a relationship that lasts a lifetime. Our students speak English, come with their own insurance, spending money, etc. I am a local coordinator here and will work with the students and the families throughout the year. We require our students do volunteer service and truly become a part of their new home, family, and community.

Do your part to promote peace, acceptance, and understanding in what sometimes feels like an intolerant world. Hosting a student opens the conversation for global citizenship, inspires the next generation of young ambassadors, and affects lives in your community and beyond.
