ORGANIZATION: The Community of Holy Rosary & St. John the Evangelist

The St. John Learning Center is an adult education program that is part of Holy Rosary-St. John Church.

We are looking for volunteer computer class teachers. Most classes will be during weekday mornings and afternoons, although we are open to considering other times.

Classes will generally run for one hour or an hour and a half, depending on the level of complexity.

Classes include Computer Basics, Applying for Jobs Online, MS Office classes, etc. We have some course materials, but are also open to working with you to develop new class materials.

We are also open to developing new classes with volunteers.

Description

The Community of Holy Rosary & St. John the Evangelist is a center city Roman Catholic Church with a focus on social outreach. Some of the ministries of the church include:

  • Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass with Gospel Choir
  • St. John Community Center (community center that houses a variety of nonprofits and a health clinic)
  • St. John Food Pantry
  • St. John Learning Center (adult education)
  • community gardens
  • youth ministry
  • senior ministry
  • Martin Luther King Day Celebration
  • Black Heritage Month Celebration
