Some of our volunteers from our Beyond Blind Fest 2012 5k Run/Walk.

Exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses strong administrative skills, excellent communication and interpersonal competencies. Should also demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft outlook. The responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing new volunteers
  • Maintaining a robust schedule of volunteers
  • Liaison between BBI leaders, trainers, volunteers and members
  • Provide administrative support to BBI leaders
  • Participate in weekly member programs as available

In addition, a strong focus on technical skills, advanced low-vision-aid technology, and research and development of various eye diseases is part of our mission.

Description

The Beyond Blind Institute Inc. is a non-profit innovative corporation that will empower and restore the shattered lives of hundreds of visually impaired and blind men and women, Body, Mind and Soul. Our unique programs are designed to re-cultivate each individual's strengths and talents that have been left behind due to blindness.

Visual impairment and blindness is a growing population with potentially 80 million people suffering with various eye disorders. Diseases and disorders range from Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Corneal Diseases, Brain Tumors, Strokes, Retinal Cancer, Cataracts, and many more rare diseases. When is the last time you saw a blind person visiting a fitness center, nutrition store, salon, place of business or your local shopping center? Losing your eyesight is a tragic life-changing event that can make an individual lose all self-confidence and remain in seclusion.

With your help, we at BBI can make miracles happen by turning tragedy into triumph by bringing in-sight back to the blind.
