About

Volunteers work with students in grades 1-10 and provide assistance with homework, literacy, math, technology, and life skills. Volunteers also assist in extra activities which include music, soccer, basket ball, art, and cooking. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Ngorli is the village!

This program immerses the youth in African Culture and promotes cultural competence. Cultural competence is the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultural, ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds. Cultural competence occurs when members of the school community honor, respect, and value diversity in theory and in practice; and teaching and learning are made relevant and accessible to students of various cultures, races, and ethnicities.

Training, resources, and staff support are provided.
