Children cannot learn at their potential when they are in crisis or face significant non-academic needs. Most students who drop out of school are dealing with multiple problems that present barriers to their education: poverty, unattended health needs, hunger, an unemployed parent, domestic violence.
Our mission: Communities In Schools of Central Texas surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
We are looking for volunteers to help sew on Girl Scout Patches for students! What we need:
-Someone who can sew 2-3 patches each on 3-5 canvas bags
-You will pick up the bags and patches from Linder Elementary and return them on May 3rd
- You'll be helping out the girl scouts at Linder and give them a special end of the year gift

Description
Communities In Schools of Central Texas has programming in 100 elementary, middle, and high school campuses across Central Texas, providing support services to students and families. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time events to weekly commitments and can include working directly with students or supporting CIS behind the scenes. Campus-based volunteers are matched to meet weekly with a student during the school year, beginning in the fall and continuing until the end of the school year.
