Athena Project’s mission is to empower women and strengthen the Denver community through developing and showcasing women and girls’ artistic contributions while inviting new audiences into the creative process. Athena Project produces an annual Arts Festival, celebrating amazing new plays by female writers, fashion, music, and dance. The Festival features our hugely innovative Plays In Progress series, in which women playwrights collaborate with directors, dramaturgs, and actors, to bring brand new work to the public as workshop performances - and then the audience tells us what they think! Athena Project is continuously looking for exciting new works and voices for our Plays In Progress Series.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?

Athena Project receives 150 submissions for their Plays In Progress Series, three to five of which will be featured in their 2019 Arts Festival. Project Helping volunteers will read and review one unique script each to help select those featured plays. If you are a lover of theatre and 18 years or older, you can help us - no prior experience necessary. Athena Project will teach you their method of evaluating scripts and be there to guide you the entire way. Your feedback is vital for advancing women in the arts! As space is limited, make sure to register before participating in this awesome event.
