Walk With Sally is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide mentoring support programs and services to children of parents or siblings with cancer.

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Intern will be responsible for the overall support and assistance to the Program staff, helping with programs and services, and providing administrative functions for the entire organization. By working with Walk With Sally, the Program Intern will be able to experience all facets of a fast-paced, growing nonprofit, while focusing primarily on program maintenance and development. The primary focus is serving the children (and families) coping with a parent’s cancer through all of our support programs and related services.

Specific Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Assist in intake information for children and families referred to or exploring participation in the mentoring program and/or services
2. Assist with the development and management of relationships with local schools and community-based organizations
3. Assist and coordinate the matching process of mentees and mentors in the Mentoring Program
4. Attend various outreach events and meetings as a representative of Walk With Sally
5. Maintain timely, accurate contact information in the organization’s databases: Salesforce
6. Complete other duties and activities as needed

Experience:

Interest in the non-profit sector, and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Spanish speaking is a PLUS.
