Denver Rescue Mission is in need of Child Care Assistants to help care for the children in our STAR Adult Program, while parents participate in life changing workshops. Expectations of the position are as follows:
- Caring and providing supervision to the STAR children (ages range from 6mths - 5 years)
- cleaning up play areas.
- performing all child care needs as necessary.
Title of Position: Childcare Volunteer
Supervisor and Supported By: Kayla Matzdorf Education Coordinator
Purpose of Position: To help care for the children while parents participate in life changing workshops.
Duties May Include:
- Playing with, caring for, and interacting with children of all ages - mostly six weeks old to five years old
- Changing diapers, feeding infants, and helping put children to sleep
- Supervising free play, assisting the Children’s Coordinator, and facilitating lessons
Preferred Qualifications - Eighteen years of age or older
- Have some experience with children
- Love and have a passion for children
- Good communication skills

Description
Founded in 1892, Denver Rescue Mission is the oldest full-service Christian charity serving the poor and needy in the Rocky Mountain region.
Lawrence Street Shelter is our most recognizable location because of the neon "Jesus Saves" sign on the corner of the building. Services at this location include shelter (up to 315 men nightly), medical services and relational and emotional support for those experiencing homelessness.
The Crossing provides a long-term New Life Program location for men; the STAR Transitional Program for homeless families and single men and women with children; and temporary housing for New Life Program graduates, interns and visitors.
