Youth program

Help us make an impact in this community by supporting this project, which is designed to build self-esteem, confidence and promote healthy choices through non-contact boxing training. Young ladies, aged 8-18, will also benefit academically with the assistance of tutors and practice leadership by becoming a "coach in training."

Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to the a) ever-growing prevalence of overweight youth and b) growing number of youth that fall from the education system and into the justice system. This project and your assistance will help ensure the success of Total K.O. Boxing Club’s 'Youth Program’ and overall Mission.

Wether you would like to volunteer for one event or all, we would LOVE to have you join our team! Any and all hours can be counted towards community service hours.

Please feel free to email at info@tkoboxingclub.org or contact us directly at 469-844-0047.

Mission Statement

Description

Total K.O.'s 'Youth Program' is offered through Total K.O. Boxing Club, a newly incorporated 501(c)3 in Fort Worth. It is designed to build self-esteem, confidence and healthy choices through non-contact boxing training. Young ladies, aged 8-18, will also benefit academically with the assistance of tutors and practice leadership by becoming a "coach in training."

Background:
Total K.O. opened next to the FWISD administrative building in January of 2017 with the Pro-Bono assistance from Kelly Hart & Hallman, LLP through a veteran assistance organization called Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans. Then, Total K.O. launched its core "Total Knockouts" non-contact boxing program in May; becoming Texas' first, and only "all-girls & women’s" nonprofit boxing club.

Program Description:
That year, in November, Total K.O. Boxing Club secured grant funding from United Way of Tarrant County. A "Social Innovation" grant to launch its first, Spring-Youth Program; a pilot, after-school health & education initiative that will seek out, identify, and encourage 20 of Tarrant County’s most at-risk youth--ranging from elementary to high-school--to get up, get moving, and get physically active. Specifically, those at-risk of obesity, failing grades, fighting, gang involvement, pregnancy, in addition to those dealing with bullying.
