ABOUT OUTSIDE2INSIDE:

Outside2Inside (O2I) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on reducing food waste through prevention, recovery and recycle through various creative programs. The programs recover the unattractive but otherwise nutritious produce from local partners and serve the deprived, needy in our society. Our recycle program converts the food waste into organic compost and animal feed serving the urban households & local farms.

Every year, the United States is wasting approximately 40% of the food we produce. Meanwhile 42 million Americans are still "food insecure". If our country recovered just 30% of what we’re wasting and provide it to people in need, domestic hunger would be eliminated!

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a great opportunity for an entry level UI/UX designer looking to build their portfolio. We are seeking an organized, self-motivated UI/UX designer to join our growing organization. In this position, we are looking for an outstanding UI/UX designer to have basic design skills to work with our developement team.

The UX/UI Designer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off for development
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to website experience
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Cross-platform, responsive web applications for desktop, mobile/tablet applications
• Collaborate with senior manager and engineering teams to create optimized and delightful user experiences
• Present design work to the senior manger, program managers, executive team for review and feedback

• 0-2+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, hybrid designer, or similar role
• College degree optional
• Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
• Previous iOS/Android App Design, React-Native framework experience highly preferred
• Experience in HTML 5 and CSS 3
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
