Deliver once or twice a year for Meals on Wheels

ORGANIZATION: Community Emergency Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We need Meals on Wheels drivers for the fifth days of the month; generally volunteers choose to drive on the "fourth Tuesday" or "second Wednesday" so we are short of drivers for the fifth week. It is more fun if two people take a route; one to drive and one to navigate.

The routes generally take about an hour, addresses are in Minneapolis and meals are ready to be picked up at 11 am. We are located at 1900 11th Ave S, Mpls MN 55404 (we are six blocks south of the USBank Stadium). Park in the parking lot and enter through the doors facing the parking lot. If you would be willing to deliver a route once, that would be great!

The days we need drivers are:
Monday, April 30
Tuesday, May 29
Wednesday, May 30
Thursday, May 31
Thursday, June 28
Friday, June 29
Monday, July 30
Tuesday, July 31
Wednesday, August 29
Thursday, August 30
Friday, August 31
Monday, October 29
Tuesday, October 30
Wednesday, October 31
Thursday, November 29
Friday, November 30
Monday, December 31

About Community Emergency Service

Location:

1900 11th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55404, US

Mission Statement

Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

Description

Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.

CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.

At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.

Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
