Comcast generously chose The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico's food bank, to host Comcast Cares Day-the nation's largest single-day corporate volunteer event. Join hundreds of volunteers at The Food Depot to complete projects and make a big impact in one morning. Comcast is generously providing lunch, snacks, door prizes, and more! Bring your children, friends and co-workers, the more the merrier!
Sign up to help repackage bulk food and/or complete other projects for as little as an hour between 8-12pm at The Food Depot's warehouse.Sign up to help with a food drive and staff a donation table at participation grocery stores. You can sign up for a shift, either from 8-10am or 9:30-12pm. Or, stay the entire time as a Team Leader, from 8-12pm, and be the main point of contact for delivery drivers to pick up donations. Each shift will start at The Food Depot for time to register, pick up your t-shirt and enjoy the festivities!
Participation in Comcast Cares Day helps The Food Depot secure a grant from Comcast. Combined grants from prior years has allowed The Food Depot to serve approximately 40,000 meals to struggling children, adults and seniors throughout its nine-county service area.

Description
As the food bank for nine counties, The Food Depot provides food to nearly 40,000 people experiencing hunger annually. Over 35 % of hunger needs are addressed through direct service programs operated by The Food Depot. The majority (65%) of The Food Depot’s hunger relief services involves food distribution to over 81 nonprofit agencies through 145 locations including food pantries, meal programs, shelters, youth programs, shelters, and senior centers. The Food Depot provides more than 430,000 meals to people in need - the most vulnerable of our community - children, seniors, working families and those in ill health.
