This will be our FOURTH year participating in the Las Vegas Science & Technology Fair, a weeklong community science fair. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in experiential education activities, milking a plexi-glass cow and making butter, getting up close and personal with the farm animals, and learning about horses, how they are meaured (what is a HAND), how their digestion system works, and so forth. We also will be open for Happy Hour with Horses, offering $5 horse rides, so we know HORSE LEADERS. We need volunteers, ages 16 and older, to help with stations, supervise barnyard and bounce house, help with check in, parking, leading horses, etc. Please email events@horses4heroes.org if you can participate or if you have questions. Our mission is to make horseback riding affordable for, and accessible to those in our community whose Call of Duty is to protect and serve, including Active Duty service members, veterans, First Responders, school teachers, nurses and their families. We also serve veterans with PTS/MST/TBI, domestic violence victims, recovering addicts, at-risk youth and others who need a hand up, not a hand out.l
Description
Las Vegas-based Horses4Heroes is the only national non-profit that owns its own horses and uses those horses every day in programs to empower, engage, inspire, educate and enterain. The non-profit operates the Horses4Heroes Community Equestrian Center, located within historic Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. Here we give lessons, hold camps, host birthday parties, special events, Girl Scouts and more. We serve all ages from 2 to adult.
