Background:
Over the years we've learned many animals in need are connected to people in need. We've seen an unfortunate common thread running through at least 50% of the requests for help we receive from individuals considering surrendering their companion animals to their local animal intake facility...they are all experiencing some type of economic hardship due to job loss or under-employment, lack of a living wage, divorce, unexpected medical situation or other family struggle. We don't have all the answers by a long shot but after completing some pilot programming and other R&D over the last 2 years, we're ready to start formally accepting participant applications to our NMPA JET program.
