Looking for a one-time volunteer opportunity? Volunteer at the 2018 Journeys event!

Journeys is a collection of stories written by adult literacy students enrolled in English as a Second Language, GED, and basic skills classes across the state. Every year the Minnesota Literacy Council holds a Journeys reading and awards ceremony to showcase adult student writing and recognize adult literacy students, volunteers, and community partners for their outstanding achievements. Volunteers are needed during the evening of this event in a variety of roles. Shifts are 1-3 hours and run from 4:15-9 p.m.

Description

Founded in 1972, Literacy Minnesota is Minnesota's only non-profit, volunteer-based, education provider that operates statewide. Through a network of over 100 community and school-based programs, we provide free classes for individuals lacking the most basic reading, writing and English-speaking skills. We serve both native-born Americans and refugees and immigrants.
