City Startup Labs (CSL) is now offering returning citizens in Charlotte, NC the opportunity to develop and exercise their entrepreneurial capabilities with a new initiative through its Center of Excellence - the ReEntry Entrepreneurship Program (REEP). This project is designed to guide the participants through the process a researching, planning and launching new businesses, while developing the entrepreneurial mindset, attitude, and aptitude for success.
CSL is seeking persons interested in working either as mentors or business coaches with individuals and teams. REEP will run for six months, from mid-June through the end of January 2019. Mentors will work with the participants throughout that period and coaches will be brought onboard during the last three months - when the program reaches the incubation or labs phase. There is not a specific location where you will conduct your mentoring or coaching, which is why we stated that it’s virtual. Nevertheless, we will require that you do meet face to face with your charge at least once per month.
Prior work with this population isn’t required, however, we do require that you attend an orientation in late May, and if you are mentoring, that you be available for the start of the session on June 22nd & 23rd Friday & Saturday at 9AM.
One other opportunity is specifically working on digital/computer literacy, making sure that the participants are up to speed with basic computer skills and internet access.
