City Startup Labs (CSL) through the ReEntry Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) or Restorative Pathways works directly with formerly incarcerated or justice-involved persons as they are transitioning through their return.

The Accountability Partner serves as a partner, in either initiative, in support of participants, with guided conversations, as they navigate the challenges encountered during their participation in CSL programming. Accountability Partners are a critical element in CSL’s efforts to help seed social capital.

The Business Coach serves as a trusted advisor as the REEP participants navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship, make informed decisions, and build a strong foundation for their business's success. They will assist the entrepreneur in applying the skills and principles learned during their training as they execute their business model and launch their new enterprise.

REEP is designed to help participants develop the entrepreneurial mindset, attitude, and aptitude for success through three phases: Learn, Build, and Deploy. Participants will LEARN exciting new skills in digital technology software and equipment + entrepreneurship; BUILD their business concept with a team of co-founders and a business coach; and DEPLOY the venture using resources gained through CSL and our community partners.

Restorative Pathways (RP) is a reentry workforce development program. CSL partners with a corporate employer to recruit, vet, and train justice-impacted individuals for entry into their workforce.

CSL is seeking persons interested in working either as accountability partners or business coaches with individuals and teams. REEP will run for 6 months, twice a year; RP runs several times throughout the year, for 5 weeks at a time.

There is not a specific location where you will conduct your mentoring or coaching, but we are looking for folks located in or near Charlotte only. We will require that you meet face to face (Zoom meetings also acceptable) with your charge at least once per month.

Prior work with this population isn’t required, however, we do require that you attend an orientation.
