BMAGIC, a youth empowerment organization in the Bayview District, hosts an annual book fair for preschool and young elementary school children at the historic Bayview Opera House. As a volunteer, you will help facilitate activities for the children, like crafts and literacy games. Each child attending will take home a couple of books for their home library and eat a healthy snack during their time there. The organizers are also offering literacy workshops for the educators in attendance.

Mission Statement
Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Jumpstart aims to close the gap in educational achievement between children from low-income communities and their wealthier peers, before that gap appears. In pursuit of this goal, Jumpstart recruits and trains college students, called Corps members, to help preschool-aged children in low-income neighborhoods develop the language, literacy, and social skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Jumpstart inspires children to learn, young adults to teach and lead, families to become more involved in their children’s education, and communities to progress together.
