ORGANIZATION: The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter

The ALS Association- DC/MD/VA Chapter is looking for volunteers to assist us with our DC Dine to Defeat ALS Event Prep. This will include stuffing gift bags, organizing auction items, and other event prep tasks that may occur.

All tasks will take place at our office located at 30 W Gude Drive, Rockville, MD. We will be working on these tasks from May 23rd - 25th and are asking volunteers to pick time slots for any or all of those days.

Mission Statement

Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. The DC/MD/VA is based in Rockville, MD with an office in Richmond, VA.

Description

The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of people living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis a.k.a. Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and their families in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The ALS Association National Office and the ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter operate under a shared mission: to support people living with ALS and to leave no stone unturned in the search for a cure. The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is currently serving almost 700 people living with ALS and their families. These services include assistive technology devices, social worker visits, medical equipment loan closet, transportation grants, and many other services. All of the Chapter's services are provided free of charge to the families.
