A local food bank is searching for someone to help with Community Outreach and Publicity.
You would be an advocate for hungry people by designing digital presentations, local press ads, storyboards and other materials meant to improve the nutrition of clients.
Along with other volunteers you will use this material and identify and engage service, social, educational and professional groups asking them to help reach clients, donors and partners. Your job is to tell a compelling story about neighbors in the community who are in need.
You would also use your talent and experience to strengthen cooperation among volunteers and the community in general.
Time required is estimated to be 8 to 16 hours a month, and you set your schedule. Some time in the beginning is at the food bank so you are familiar with the operation. Much of your volunteering in this position could be done remotely.
This opportunity is posted by RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) helping people over age 55 find meaningful volunteer opportunities. You do NOT have to be 55 to volunteer for this.
