ComeUnity Sports is a competitive training and exercise program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities - our Starz!
Our Starz Track and Field Team has begun practicing and is looking for additional volunteers to assist with coaching and competitions.
Practices take place on Monday nights at the East Meadow High School. Volunteers should come dressed to exercise alongside the athletes and should arrive no later than 6pm.
Volunteers will be asked to assist athletes while they train for events such as, the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash, standing and running long jump, modified javelin throw, modified shot-put (softball throw) or the the 4X100 relay.
No track and field experience is necessary just a desire to help and a lot of energy. A full schedule including competitions can be provided upon meeting with the volunteer coordinator.
