Earth Day Volunteer Opportunity - Garlic Mustard Invasive Plant Removal!

Volunteering with Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is a great way to learn about habitats and wildlife, while helping care for natural resources and connecting with like-minded people. Grab gloves, and come out to volunteer with us!

Volunteers play a key role in keeping Inlow Park healthy by pulling up garlic mustard, an invasive plant that takes up space where native plants could thrive. With teamwork and persistence, we are making a difference in our parks!

The most effective treatment for removal is the act of pulling the entire plant and root system from the ground by hand, and carefully bagging it so as not to spread the seeds. Garlic Mustard pulls are a great stewardship project for volunteers of all ages! Please go online to http://carmelclayparks.com/volunteer/ to register for the event.
