Core Academy, Powered by The Rogers Foundation, provides a long-term comprehensive support model to empower and uplift our community's under-resourced youth, emphasizing character education, academic engagement, community service, cultural enrichment, social services, and mentorship.

We have a great opportunity for anyone looking to make an impact in the lives of teenagers by assisting with after school tutoring! We are looking for tutoring assistants to work alongside our lead tutors to help middle and high school scholars with their school work during after-school hours. We are in dire need of volunteer tutors who are proficient in the subjects of math and science for middle school and high school (Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, etc.). Our tutoring times are Monday through Thursday 4 pm - 6:00 pm, and volunteer tutors could commit to a regular schedule of one, two, three, or four days a week until the end of the school year. Right now, we are looking for volunteers who are available Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer tutors who are comfortable working with students with learning differences on a one-on-one level are a big plus!

As part of Core Academy's emphasis on academic engagement, you would be working with our students to ensure that they are completing homework assignments, understanding class work, and preparing for upcoming academic benchmarks. You will also be working in tandem with our Primary Tutors and our Academic Advisors who work with the students every day and ensures all aspects of the program are running correctly.

All volunteer tutors must pass a full FBI background check and go through an interview with our Volunteer Coordinator to ensure a good fit with our tutoring program.
