Below are descriptions of our volunteer needs:
Set-Up Crew - Sunday, May 20th, 7:00am - 8:30am If you have a lot of energy, and would like to volunteer BEFORE the 5K, this job is for you! Join the GOTR staff as one of the first people to arrive at the 5K site and help set up the start/finish and staging areas. Must be 18 years or older.
Post-Race Refreshments - Sunday, May 20th, 8:00am - 10:30am The PRR crew will set up the post-5K refreshments in the start/finish chute prior to the start of the 5K. Once the participants depart, the refreshments (and tables) will be repositioned inside the chute and ready when the finishers arrive. After the 5K you will assist in cleaning up the food area. Must be 18 years or older.
Finish Line Monitors - Sunday, May 20th, 8:00am - 10:30am Cheer on the girls as they finish the 5K, while acting as course security. This volunteer role will be very fun, but you will also need to be able to keep the finish area clear, which will require a firm, loud voice. Must be 18 years or older.
Course Marshals - Sunday, May 20th, 7:30am - 10:00am Help keep participants on course and motivated! Course marshals play a very important role in the production of the 5K. Volunteers must be punctual, upbeat, and ready to serve rain or shine! You will need to remain at your post until the last runner/walker passes.
Happy Hair Volunteers - Sunday, May 20th, 7:30am - 10:00am Help girls GOTR-ize before the race with colored hair spray! Warning - this is a really fun but messy job! Must be 16 years or older.
Safety Runners/Walkers - Sunday, May 20th, 8:00am - 10:00am Run or walk in the Girls on the Run 5K and be on the lookout for girls in need of assistance. Provide encouragement to girls on the course and reinforcement to girls who may have become separated from their Buddies. All safety runners will complete an online background check, at no expense, prior to 5K day. Must be 18 years or older.
Cheer Station - Sunday, May 20th, 8:00am - 10:00am Cheer on the girls as they complete our 5K. No age restrictions- just come prepared to be an enthusiastic spectator along the course!

Mission Statement
Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Description
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
