ORGANIZATION: Altus Hospice of the Hills

If you can speak conversational German and our willing to make an impact on the quality of life to a hospice patient we would love to welcome you to our team!

Volunteering in hospice is a unique and hugely impactful contribution to our patients and the volunteers who spend time with them. Hospice is all about how you live, and having the best quality of life possible for out patients. We never ask you to do any medical or personal care for patients, we do ask that you open yourself up to making a new friend who has led a life like no one else-theirs.

We all have stories to tell and as a volunteer you would be privileged to enter into another person's story. Each conversation, visit, and patient you visit expands your world view just a little bit more.

If you would like to learn more about hospice volunteering please reach out-we would love to hear from you! jsantos@altushospicecare.com

100 N College Street, Round Rock, TX 78664, US

Mission Statement

The Mission of Altus Hospice is to provide professional care with a personal touch. We accomplish this by focusing on both the patient and their family. We will treat the disease process with medical expertise while emphasizing quality living, not only physically, but also psychosocially, emotionally and spiritually. Comfort, compassion and calming presence are the gifts we bring to this service, and we are honored to walk with the patient and loved ones through this special time.

Description

Altus has the honor and privilege to partner with patients and families as they enter into end of life care.

Hospice is a concept of caring, rather than a specific location. In hospice care, the emphasis is on palliative (comfort) care and quality of life. Every effort is made to make the patient as comfortable as possible and fulfill the distinct wishes of the patient and their family. There is practical, emotional, and spiritual support available for all involved.
