Beach Mouse Survey Assistants will hike along the sand dunes in beautiful St. Andrews State Park with trained park personnel to conduct monthly Beach Mouse survey throughout the Summer and Fall months.
Hike through the sand dunes with trained park personnel to assist with data collection on a monthly beach mouse survey. You will help the park by collecting any trash you see in the dunes as we hike. You must be able to commit to one day consisting of 2-4 hours hiking in the hot sunshine for approximately 4 miles through sometimes deep sand and dry vegetation. There will be small hills and uneven surfaces as we hike through the dunes. You will possibly stoop down and bend over repetitively. This is a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. Great opportunity to build your resume! This single day opportunity is a great way to get to know the park and could lead to other volunteer opportunities within the Florida State Park Service.
