This is the moment we've all been waiting for! April signifies the official start of the growing season at Elk Run Farm. The days are longer, the weather is warming and our crops are ready to grow.

Ever want to get your hands dirty and learn how to raise a plant, but don't know where to start? Our weekly volunteer parties are right up your alley. These will be held every Saturday, 10am-2pm throughout the month of April & May. You can expect to do a variety of farming tasks, like direct seeding, transplanting, watering, harvesting and keeping those weeds at bay all with the guidance and direction of our farm and field manager. Check our Facebook (facebook.com/elkrunfoodbankfarm) for each week's activities.

Our parties will continue rain or shine so please keep an eye on the weather and wear appropriate clothing or rain gear. Don't forget your reusable water bottle and a snack or lunch!

Elk Run Farm is located at 22500 SE 275th Pl., Maple Valley, WA 98038. We recently changed our entrance so you will not be able to come in from SE 275th Pl. Please enter from 228th Ave. SE, drive past the parking lot on to the gravel road and park near our fence.

Spend time outdoors with your friends and family, fulfill those community service hours and help us feed that many more families in South King County!
