Mission Statement

Oscar's Cause is a non profit 501c3 organization for the welfare of animals across the nation. Our veterinary financial assistance program provides life saving medical care to pets in need, and we are in the process of beginning a new 100% no-kill shelter here in Polk County.

Description

Oscar's Cause was founded in 2015, 2 days after the loss of a beloved dachshund, Oscar. During the last year of Oscar's time here on earth, his parents witnessed first hand just how many animals are not given a chance. While at multiple vet appointments for Oscar, his parents spoke with many other pet parents are realized just how many animals are euthanized or surrender due to the lack of financial ability to provide vet care.

Once Oscar passed, his parents knew they had to do something about it. Two days later, Oscar's Cause was founded to financially assist ill or injured animals in need of veterinary care, to help reduce the number of pets being euthanized or surrendered to high kill shelters.

Along with our financial assistance program, Oscar's Cause has taken in many animals over the years and we are now working toward a no-kill shelter & sanctuary here in Polk County.
