Be a part of the Community Environmental Council’s Earth Day Festival in Santa Barbara. The success of Earth Day relies on the energy and hands-on support of our friends and fellow eco-citizens. There are opportunities for individuals, groups and students. This is a great opportunity for team building, green networking, and giving back to the community. We would love to have you on board!

Volunteers help in every area of the festival, assisting with vendor check-in, greeting festival guests, conducting crowd counts, working in the Green Car Show area, and helping with children's activities. They also assist with stage management, parking, signage, waste management, social media and more.

Volunteer shifts are three hours each and you can sign up for as many as you'd like, Thursday, April 19 - Sunday, April 22, and all volunteers have a mandatory orientation on Thursday, April 19 5:30-6:30pm.

About Community Environmental Council

Location:

26 W. Anapamu Street, 2nd Floor, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, US

Mission Statement

The CEC is a well-established environmental nonprofit focused exclusively on energy efficiency and renewables, alternative transportation, and climate change. We work from grassroots to policy levels to help community members reduce their carbon footprint and to end our region's dependency on fossil fuels to become 'Fossil Free by 2033'.

Description

Most experts think we have already reached the end of the era of cheap oil. CEC has thus drawn a line in the sand: Fossil Free by '33. Sure it's a cute slogan -- but with monumental consequences. Because our economy is energy, we are challenging the tri-county region to set an example for our nation and the world by ending its dependence on fossil fuels -- primarily oil and coal -- and meeting its needs through conservation and renewable resources, such as solar, wind and wave energy.
