The Trail Center is an all-volunteer organization that, on one Saturday each month, constructs and maintains hiking trails in various Bay Area public parks. It is a very small organization with an annual operating budget of around $10,000. Our website is www.trailcenter.org
We are seeking someone either to be the principal treasurer/accountant or to assist the current treasurer/accountant. The time requirement would be no more than 6-8 hours per month (considerably less as an assistant), the hours would be totally flexible, and all work could be done remotely although we prefer you live in the San Francisco Bay Area. The responsibilities of this position include receiving and depositing membership and other contributions, paying of all expenses, reconciling all accounts, managing the investment account, filing all regulatory/tax reports (Federal Form 990-N, CA Form 199-N, CA Form RRF-1, etc.) and maintaining all accounting records (QuickBooks). Some limited prior accounting experience is required.

The Trail Center is a non-profit volunteer organization formed in 1983 to provide and promote quality non-motorized trail opportunities for all people in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco counties. The Trail Center works with government agencies, outdoor enthusiasts and other interested parties to create and manage an interconnected network of trails for the four-county region.
