The Trail Center is an all-volunteer organization that, on one Saturday each month, constructs and maintains hiking trails Bay Area public parks. It is a very small organization with an annual operating budget of around $10,000.
We are seeking someone either to be the principal treasurer/accountant or to assist the current treasurer/accountant. The time requirement would be no more than 6-8 hours per month (considerably less as an assistant), the hours would be totally flexible, and all work could be done remotely. The responsibilities of this position include receiving and depositing membership and other contributions, paying of all expenses, reconciling all accounts, managing the investment account, filing all regulatory/tax reports (Federal Form 990-N, CA Form 199-N, CA Form RRF-1, etc.) and maintaining all accounting records (QuickBooks). Some limited prior accounting experience is required.
