Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigrant Services - San Mateo is looking for one or more skilled and enthusiastic volunteer translators. A lot of the work we do required us to translate documents and declarations from Spanish into English. These translations are often essential parts of our immigration cases.
The volunteers will:
Translate documents from Spanish into English. Documents may include: declarations, civil documents, simple legal documents.
Attention to detail & resourcefulness
Comfortable using Microsoft word and email.
Will vary and depend on needs. A staff member will contact the On-Call Translating Volunteer to assign translation and coordinate deadlines. Deadlines will usually be 48h, 36h, or a week depending on the needs and the type of documents that will be translated. Volunteer is welcome to either come to our office in San Mateo or perform the activities remotely.
