April Brews Day Returns for its 17th Year!
Get ready for the biggest Brews Day you've seen yet! With over 70 breweries and thousands of attendees, we need your help! 350 volunteers make this event possible, so we couldn't do it without you! All proceeds from ABD go towards Max Higbee Center, a community-based non profit organization providing recreation programs for teens and adults living with developmental disabilities. Volunteer Details: Date: Saturday, April 28th, 2018 Time: 7:30PM-11:30PM (Second Shift) Perks: First and second shift volunteers receive free entry into the event before or after their shift, an ABD tasting cup, and 2 tasting tickets. Second shift volunteers also receive an ABD growler at the end of the night to all volunteers who stick around until the job is done! ***ADDITIONAL PERK*** All volunteers will receive an additional tasting ticket for every friend they recruit to volunteer! Instruct friends to type in your name under how they heard about this event when filling out the volunteer sign up form to receive this perk. Tasting tickets can be used to taste one of the 140+ beers or for delicious food from 10 of Bellingham's local food trucks and vendors. Jobs: We have a diverse range of positions that need to be filled by reliable people. Do you have a MAST permit? You can pour beer when brewers need a break! Interested in ensuring the safety of attendees? Help us out in our security position! Wanting to be in the middle of it all? Become a brewer's assistant and hang out with one of the many breweries at the event while collecting tasting tickets. Other jobs include: admissions, food runners, scrip sellers, exit helpers, and floaters. Requirements: Must be 21 or older and committed to ensuring the success of this fundraiser that raises money for Max Higbee Center's recreation programs for people with developmental disabilities. Description

Max Higbee Center is a grassroots organization founded by educators and families of people with developmental disabilities who wanted quality recreation opportunities in Whatcom County. Max Higbee, a professor at Western Washington University, spearheaded this movement. The Drop-In Center gained status as a non-profit organization in 1984 and was then renamed in honor of its founder. The Max Higbee Center envisions a caring, inclusive, respectful, and thriving community where people are empowered to grow, develop, and enrich their lives through recreation activities and the relationships they create. MHC values a fun, safe, welcoming, and people-first community dedicated to creating friendships and offering opportunities for all members to reach their greatest potential.
