Seeking a volunteer with a passion for advancing and supporting the arts in New Jersey to join the Nova Initio Foundation, a 501(c)3, grass-roots organization based in Morristown, New Jersey, and dedicated to raising awareness of local arts and creative talent across communities in the Garden State, and to supporting its emerging artists.
- PLEASE NOTE: This is an unpaid, all-volunteer organization
Candidates should be adept at and interested in social media networking via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among others. - Willing and able to:
- Volunteer a limited number of hours per month to maintain and update internet accounts, disseminate
information on recent achievements, membership recruitment, current and upcoming Foundation
activities.
2. Assist the Nova Initio Foundation in preparing for and hosting live, fundraising events.
- Currently planning our next fundraiser: Oktoberfest, Autumn of 2018
3. Attendance at monthly Executive Committee meetings is recommended but not required.
- May work remotely and collaborate with Foundation colleagues via teleconference or Webex.
- Ideal opportunity for high school students, college students, retirees, and others interested in community service.

Mission Statement
The Novia Initio Foundation will operate as an independent non profit organization dedicated to the identification of public awareness of creative work by rising adult artist-in-residence within the the State of New Jersey. By sponsoring artists who apply for grants and present their work to our independent panel we are advocating for growth and recognition of their talents.
The Foundation will seek to initiate, nurture and sustain partnerships with individuals and corporate patrons of the fine arts and the performance arts: The National Endowment for the Arts: and the New Jersey Council on the Arts. We are encouraging and reaching out to corporate sponsors, individuals and interested groups to support our endeavors and artists.
Description
The Foundation is seeking a volunteer pro bono accountant to serve as a temporary or long term Treasurer to provide accounting services and fulfill the fiscal responsibilities of the organization. Experience in the non profit arena and an interest in raising the profile of individuals and groups in the arts area would be welcome.
Specifically, the candidate's operational functions would include:
- Formalization and periodic updates to the business plan
-Management of receipts , deposits and withdrawals of Foundation's monies
- General accounting procedures includin maintenance of bank accounts and balance sheets.
- Year end and government mandated financial reports and audits
