Come help the Flint Hills Discovery Center celebrate the Flint Hills with live music, food trucks, beer and wine and lots of family friendly activities at this year's annual Flint Hills Festival!
We are looking for extra volunteer support to help members and prepaid admissions check in and to assist with a variety of activities including:
- Archery
- Bounce Houses and Inflateables
- Flint Hills Science Experiments
- Rock Climbing
- Giant Building Blocks
- Magic Shows
- Crafts
- Games
- And More!
9:30-12:30
12:00-3:00
2:30-5:30
All volunteers will receive a free wristband to enjoy the event before and/or after their volunteer shift.
Any volunteer who volunteers for 2 or more shifts will receive a coupon for a free lunch from one of the food truck vendors at the event.

The Flint Hills Discovery Center inspires people to celebrate, explore, and care for the Flint Hills. To accomplish our mission, we have developed an extensive array of exhibits and programs that are exciting, educational, authentic, and that engage visitors of all ages from all walks of life. We have meticulously crafted and developed these exhibits and programs to educate and inspire a life-long commitment to learning. The research used to develop our displays and activities derive from the results of active partnerships with many different people and organizations. We also acknowledge to fulfill our mission and vision, the Flint Hills Discovery Center is a living, growing, and evolving institution capable of fulfilling long-term sustainability goals on a physical, philosophical, and financial level.
Description
Volunteer Support is a crucial part of the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Volunteers help with programs, give tours, assist with field trips, work outreach booths, run activities at special events, and more. We are a people and family focused institution and our volunteers are an important part of our team! Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide our community with the high quality educational programs, exhibits, and experiences that we have.
