The Alabama Kidney Foundation is seeking volunteers for its annual Huntsville Kidney Walk! This event helps fund the Foundation's Financial Assistance Program, which serves low-income dialysis patients.
We appreciate volunteers who are interested in helping make this event a success!
Set Up - Help unload all supplies from trucks and distribute to appropriate areas. Set up tables, chairs, and tents as needed. Hang banners, signs and decorations. Place directional signs. (6:15 am - 8:00 am)
Registration - Cheerfully welcome walkers and help make check-in as quick and easy as possible. Collect walker registration packets and money, making sure all forms are completed accurately. (7:45 am - 10:00 am)
Food - Help with food set up, arranging in such a way so walkers can move through the access line quickly and easily. Keep tables well stocked with food and beverage. Keep the area clean and neat. (8:00 am - 10:30 am)
Children’s Activities - Assist with children’s games/contests. Make sure very young children are accompanied by an adult. (8:00 am - 10:30 am)
Benchmark Prize Table - Handout benchmark prizes to walkers who earned this through their fundraising efforts. (8:00 am - 10:30 am)
Door Prize Table - Assist with handing out door prizes to the winners. (8:00 am - 10:30 am)
Clean Up - Break down all tents, tables, and chairs. Make sure all signs/decorations are taken down, packed in appropriate boxes and loaded on truck. Pick up trash and dispose in appropriate receptacles. Make sure walk site is as clean and neat. (10:30 am - 12:00 pm)

Description
The Alabama Kidney Foundation (AKF) was founded to assist kidney patients and has over a 43 year history of serving Alabama’s kidney patient population. Today, the AKF is the only state-based organization dedicated to assisting kidney patients, and each year touches the lives of thousands of Alabamians.
