Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak
Colorado Springs, CO
Mentor2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for the future.
The majority of the mentorship program is done over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship" - this allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules. In addition, there are monthly group events for in-person mentoring facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters and hosted at Atlas Preparatory School.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and be able to pass an extensive background check.
Volunteers must also have post-secondary education equivalent to a two year degree (Associates).
Also, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to commit to the program for four years, as we try to make matches from freshman year through graduation. We want the students to have an example of consistency and commitment in their lives.
*This program is our biggest need for volunteers!
Mentor2.0 is a program that would be great for companies and businesses who encourage their employees to volunteer in the community. Groups can simply go to Atlas Preparatory School after work for the monthly events, and be together with their mentees. It would be a good way for employees to build greater rapport with one another, and create a culture of community engagement.
Please consider volunteering today!
