Distribution Coordinator - Food
Wilkes-Barre Food distribution 2nd and 4th Friday of every month
Volunteer Job Specification
Time requirement
2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Approx. 8:30 am - 3:30pm. Minimum commitment of 6 months.
Objective of Role
Move distribution goods from Scranton and facilitate the distribution in KM’s Wilkes-Barre location.
Reporting
Role reports to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Job Profile
Leave Scranton by 9:00 am and pick up Panera / Starbucks donations on the way to Wilkes-Barre.
Be at Keystone Mission Wilkes-Barre by 10:00 am to meet volunteers.
Designate a volunteer to weigh food donations at the mission and properly log the information.
Direct volunteers to set up the room for distribution (move tables / set up chairs).
Assign volunteers items to fill the bags for the distribution. Set up meat/ produce tables, package bread items for giveaway.
Assign volunteers for each distribution station.
Open doors at 11:30 PM to start registration for a 12:00 PM start. Distribution will run until 2:00 PM.
Break down all cardboard in the dumpster.
Pack empty crates in the van to take back to Scranton.
Direct volunteers to set the room up for Message and a Meal later that night.
Drive the van back to Scranton Location.
Return paper documentation to Scranton.
Special / Physical Attributes
Valid Driver’s license
Able to lift at least 50 LBS
Able to use Microsoft Word, tablet, online applications
Good interpersonal and communication skills / Able to lead a team
Excellent organizational and time management skills
