The City of Maryland Heights is home to a variety of residents but a substantial amount of our population are our wonderful seniors. Every year, the City organizes a Volunteer Day to assist our seniors in what would take most of our able residents just a few hours outside to ready their yards for the summertime. One homeowner stated how thankful she was when a group of volunteers showed up at her house and started raking leaves, "They managed to complete what would have taken my 82 year old husband all day to do, in just a little over an hour."

Make a difference in our community! Our Volunteer Service Day on November 3rd gives assistance to our elderly and disabled residents with leaf clean up and other related yard work. Volunteers will meet at the Community Center at 8:30 a.m. for sign-in, breakfast and orientation. Groups will be dispatched to various addresses and work with a team with Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation employees to complete yard work. All work will be wrapped up by Noon. This is a great opportunity for church groups, civic organizations, families and individuals wanting to make a difference, as well as individuals needing service hours.
