About

CoachArt matches kids impacted by chronic illness with volunteers who work with them 1-on-1 to teach them an art or athletic activity.

One of the main hurdles we run into? Volunteers don't think they are skilled enough for a child to want to learn from them.

A CoachArt kid near you wants to learn from you if you can:

  • scramble an egg (cooking lessons!)
  • passed 9th grade English (creative writing lessons!)
  • can make a free throw (basketball lessons!)
We even have a new online platform that makes it incredibly easy to see the CoachArt kids near you and what they want to learn.

Your local Program Manager in the Richmond/Oakland/Berkeley area is Melissa -- click the red button to let her know you're interested or to ask any questions!
