Mission Statement
The Pacific Art League's mission is to expression, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts. Since 1921, the Pacific Art League has been a gathering place and source of inspiration and instruction in fine arts. Founded as "The Palo Alto Art Club," we created a valuable addition to the San Francisco Peninsula's cultural life.
Description
We are a membership organization, guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, and managed by a staff of professionals. We are assisted by many Volunteer Leaders who bring expertise and dedication to a wide variety of projects.
The Pacific Art League is an inviting place for anyone who wants to create art. Nearly two-thirds of our members describe themselves as amateur or student artists. Members frequently comment that the Art League is more than just a place to exhibit art and take classes. Rather, it is a community of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and skills who come together to express themselves through art.
The Pacific Art League has provided opportunities for participation in the visual arts for more than 80 years. The League was founded as the Palo Alto Art Club in 1921 by a widely talented group of people who recognized a need to meet other artists, to work together and discuss and critique each others' works. We have grown into an organization that provides classes and kids camps, opportunities for artists as well as outreach programs to other community organizations to provide art experiences for those in special circumstances.
